Along with apple pie, Converse and its shoes are as much a part of America as Coca Cola. The story of this grand old company begins back in 1908 and it is one of the worlds oldest sports shoe companies. Converse’s most popular model, the All Star, is perhaps the world’s most well known sneaker. First produced as a basket ball shoe in 1917, the All Star was later nicknamed Chuck’s after basketball player Chuck Taylor. Since the 1950’s Converse All Star’s have become synonymous with youth culture all over the world.
