The original since 1966. Established in Anaheim, California, the Van Doren Rubber Company produced simple canvas and vulcanized rubber shoes and sold them directly to the public in a store attached to the factory. Skateboarders quickly learned about the “waffle” grip and helped spread the word. In 1976, the first skateboard-specific shoe, now known as the Era, was born.
